Rice Krispies Fudge


-2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
-1/2 cup butter or margrine
-1/2 cup corn syrup
-2 tsp. vanilla
-1 cup icing sugar
-4 cups Rice Krispies

Melt chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir in icing sugar until smooth. Add cereal, mix until combined. Spread into lightly greased pan. Chill. Cut into squares.


Fudgy Brownies

-1 cup melted butter
-1 1/3 cups flour
-1 tsp. baking powder
-1/2 tsp. salt
-1 cup cocoa
-2 cups sugar
-1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
-4 eggs (beaten)


Bake @ 35 Degrees farenheight for 30-35 minuets

Environmental Impacts


The relative poverty of many cocoa farmers means that environmental concerns such as deforestation are rarely a major consideration. For decades, cocoa farmers have encroached on virgin forest, mostly after the felling of trees by logging companies.

Topography


The tree is today found growing wild in the low foothills of the Andes at elevations of around 200–400 m (650–1300 ft).

climate




Did you know that there is only one place where cocoa is grown in the United States? That place is the Big Island of Hawaii.  Hawaii's warm, tropical climate makes it an ideal location to grow these cocoa beans.  The avrage tempurature in Hawii is about 80 degrees.  While the average amount of precipitation is about 1.4 inches.
